2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Small sample. Hazy pale yellow with a lasting, unstable, frothy, white head; little lacing. Aroma of cheese, sweaty feet even, apricot, unripe banana, grapefruit peel, wheat, soap. Taste is light to medium fruity sour, unripe yellow apple with lemon peel, light grassy bitterness has some grapefruit, a tad spicy, sweetish note of mandarin. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, lingering grapefruit, wheat, lemon. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Okay.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Small sample. Hazy pale yellow with a lasting, unstable, frothy, white head; little lacing. Aroma of lime juice, lemon peel, yellow apple, yeast, white bread, soap. Taste is light to medium fruity sweet, quite some apple with sourish lemon & lime, rendering it a bit soapy-wheaty too, light grassy bitter too and even a weird salty touch. Dry, grassy hoppy finish, lingering apple & soap. Medium body, slick/watery texutre, fizzy carbonation. Not very noteworthy.

2 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to tderoeck, 77ships, Rubin77, Jerre, Kevin & Anke! Hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head; some lacing. Aroma of coffee roast, raisin, fondant, black tea, caramel, blackcurrant, toast. Taste is light malty sweet, some caramel & chocolate with a nutty edge, not very outspoken; light roasted bitter middle has toast, 'basic' coffee pad, faint fondant & a tea-like herbal touch. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering toast, coffee pad & chocolate. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Unconvincing, too basic, needs finetuning.

Pretty cloudy blond beer, small creamy white head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: soapy, bit malty, grains, hay, floral touch. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty sourish, infected? Salt is clearly noticeable, slightly fruity. Aftertaste: more sourish, unpleasant, bit acidic, really thinking about an infection here.

Huge, pale cream to beige head over deep dark cola-coloured beer. Chocolate, roasted, sweet-roasted, slight oxydation, 'hot' fermentation. Sweet, roasted, melanoidin(over)laden. Milkchocolate or chocolate Ersatz (Cadbury's). Very slick to viscous, seems fuller bodied than it probably is. Over-classical dark Belgian. Who still wants this? Thanks to Stef!

20 October 2018. Late birthday dinner at 't Botteltje, Ostend.
Pours clear dark golden with a lasting, small, unstable, frothy, off-white head; irregular lacing. Sweetish aroma of pineapple, banana, peach, white bread, honey, wheat, faint soap, grass, dough. Medium fruity sweet onset with dough-like maltiness, pineapple & (canned) peach; light grassy bitter middle, a bit hoppy with a sourish wheaty touch & a slight metallic effect. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, lingering dough & pineapple, hint of warming jenever alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Not too shabby but nothing special.
