Description
The company was founded in 1895 by Léon Stassen (1852-1931), who produced cider with apples from his own orchard. In 1992 Stassen becomes part of the English group HP Bulmers. In 2003 join Stassen and HP Bulmers the S&N group (Scottish & Newcastle). After sole ownership by Bulmers and S&N, the company returned to the fourth generation family members led by Philippe Stassen in 2008, but was acquired by Heineken in 2012.

Bottle @ my homie xpear. Clear pale yellow colour with no head. Smells like green apples, artificial sugar and syruppy. Tastes apple, sweet, rootbeer. Not bad at all, but not beer. Low body, fizzy carbo.

From Hungary. Shared with heavy. Golden body, small white head. Dusty nose, bit sulphury, some sour apple. Sulphury sweetish cidery taste, mild. Slightly tangy taste. Ok actually.

Bottled. A light yellow beer-cider (a so called beeder) with no head. The aroma has notes of apples. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat and apples, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 23 cl. Courtesy of Countbeer. Credited as "Sparkling Cider Blend". Pours an almost crystal clear with a tiny white head. Odd aroma, porridge or vegetables - certainly not fresh apples! Medium body, quite fizzy, very artificial flavours - more Sprite than anything else and not very appley. A pop - and even a poor one. 200612
