Tropical aromas of mango and pineapple matched with citrus fruits with a hint of grapefruit, on a base of biscuit malt, all bathed in accents of well-felt hop resin. Amber in color, partially veiled and strongly effervescent. Very thick off-white foam, shaving cream style and eternal persistence. The very complex malted base is offering notes of cereal, biscuit and a slightly honeyed envelope. Then comes the hop resin which imposes a frank but sweet bitterness. The hops also give us slight tropical notes and a presence of pineapple. A West Coast IPA as I like them. Complex malts. Complex and bitter hops. Solid! Malts complexes. Houblons complexes et bien amère. Solide! O:8.75 V:4.75 G:8.05 C:4.35 G:16.75 T:42.65

Can from the LCBO. Hazy dark orange with a slow fading frothy off white cap. Stringy lace. Nose is citrus peel, resin, pineapple, melon and mango. Light malty sweetness with a medium pineapple and orange peel bitterness. Mouth is medium+ and creamy with average carbonation. Slightly warming. Solid. 8/4/8-/4-/15

Part of this Christmas season 4-pack of YYZ FlightPack. Clean, amber colour with golden highlights and very light carbonation. The head is warm beige coloured, frothy with decent retention and leaving a foamy coat on the beer. Oh wow - loads of spices in the nose, as now reading the can says cloves, ginger, cardamon and Curacao orange peel. Everything is well-blended, with mild Belgian yeast and fruity malts in the base. The taste shows the orange peel giving some bitterness, and the spices are milder. Some alcohol comes out in the end, warming a little. Quite an interesting spicy winter warmer.

Part of this Christmas season 4-pack of YYZ FlightPack. Clean, light-golden colour with a white cap, fair stay and some light foamy lacing on top of the brew. Pils nose with the sweet malts giving cereal notes and some light spicy herbal hops. The taste shows some mineral water notes, light bitterness, decent dryness with that mild spicy Saaz hop snap. Refreshing, crisp mouthfeel and well-brewed all-around.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is full of spicy rye barrels, medium roast, and even more spiciness. Flavour is dominated by the rye barrels — there's tons of spiciness from the rye, medium roast, and dry crusty bready. Not huge on rye barrels in general, so perhaps that's why this isn't my favourite version of Double Tempest — just a bit too earthy and spicy. It's good, but subpar compared to other DT versions.

Dark brown colour. Mild aroma of leather, mold, Lean body, chocolate, light tobacco, moderate sweetness, minimal signs of oxidation, and warming alcohol.
Pretty good, still.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2013 vintage). Very dark brown with minimal tan head. Dark fruit, mild soy, touch of chocolate, roast, and leather. Inoffensive, though though probably too old/oxidized.

500 (thx, Chris R.!) @ Alex's shared with Ryan. Vintage 2013, hehe. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: inky, some leather, malts, some fruity notes. Taste: still good body, but the taste is not really good anymore, inky, roasted malts, ashy. Overall: ok.

A hazed blonde yellow ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, light tropical fruits, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, pleasant. On tap at Queen's Quay location.
