Bottle picked up direct from Mr Hop, Venray, Netherlands and consumed Friday 14th November 2025 (Loz's birthday) we had a Fish Finger sandwich for tea tonight, listening to Afrodeutscha on 6Music. Pours mid brown with a decent sized off white head, actually it's more v.light beige. Hints of the Irish whisky on the nose and a little toffee and caramel. Full on and with some warmth from the significant above, at first I wondered is there a very slight sour tinge, but this subsided after a few sips..Not quite as smooth as hoped, there's a rich fruitiness it's very much in the English style of barley wine as opposed to a more hop forward American one. It's ok, but I was rather hoping that it'd be better than ok.

Bottle shared at tasting. Black color, small light brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, a bit sweetish fruity notes, relatively bitter in the aftertaste as well though. Not too bad. 7-6,5-6,5-6-6,5

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel oranje bruin bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van citrus en hop. De smaak is zacht zoet, vol hoppig en lekker bitter in de afdronk.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een medium bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en sherry. De smaak is vol fruitig, rozijnen, sherry en chocolade in de afdronk.

Bottle at home. Red brown color, medium to full sized tan head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is sourish, oak / wood. Flavor has it too. Almost tastes like a flemish red/brown to me rather than like a bock. Bourbon BA? Nothing remains. Probably infected. Why would you even BBA a herfstbock? Stupid idea to begin with. Disappointing to say the least.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Hazy red color, average sized off-white head. Aroma is malts, soft tart raisins, whisky notes, slightly sweetish and candy sugar notes in the distance. Hmm okayish. Can't say I'm not disappointed. Expected better. Thin texture a bit as well. Mwah.

Bottle at home shared with Joen and Laura. Clear pale yellow golden color, average sized white head. Aroma and flavor are lightly malts, yeast, yellow fruits. Softly bitter. Quite nice this tripel.

Bottle @ home shared with Laura and Joen. Dark brown color, chestnut colored hue when held into the light. Medium sized beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, chestnut, leaves, brown malts, a light smokey hint, roasty notes. Decent to medium body, firm carbonation. Okay.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Pretty heavy on the barrel with oak and vanilla, a tad sourish which suggests infection. Picking up some malt, dried fruits. Medium body. Not a total loss, actually kinda nice despite the off-flavours.
