Ah, the elusive Kuda Putih. I’ve seen some big ads on Java and Bali, but the beer seemed to escape me all the time. I finally stumbled across this beer in Kuta, Bali, in Warung Totemo. ABV 4.57%. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of some butter, vegetables, grain. Flavour is light sweet, light sour mash, light bitter finish with a vegetable aftertaste. Light bodied, prickly mouthfeel. A bit off-tasting.

33cl Bottle in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. ABV 4.77%. Clear golden colour, thin white head. Aroma of grain and some hops. Flavour is light sweet, CO2 bitterness, a bit malty, crisp light bitter finish. Light bodied.

Bottle.From a Asien Supermarket in Berlin.Clear golden colour with small off-white head.Aroma of hops and corn.Flavor is thin and watery.Has some note of malt and hay.

Canned@omhper. Deep rubyish colour (close to black). Aroma is licorice, some mild notes of alcohol and quite much chocolate and malts. Flavour is rather sweet with mild notes of raisins and some caramel malts.

Canned. Near black, small beige head. Chocolatey nose. Sweet and sloppy, light-medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some fudge and chocolate, but quite dull. Finishes without bitternes. More like a pale lager with artificial colouring than a stout.

Canned. Pale golden, smal head. Sugary rice aroma. Sweet and mellow, no bitterness. Typical inaggressive but dull tropical lager.

330 ml can, as Anker Bir Pilsener ("Limited Edition" concerning the brewery’s 75th anniversary - I suppose the "limited edition" only affects the design of the can, not the beer inside.) A gift from my Indonesian-born sister-in-law. ABV is 4.9%. Very pale and crystal clear yellow colour, big head. Sweetish and slightly sickly "industrial" aroma, notes of grass and maize. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is bland with some sweetness and minimal bitterness, utterly boring.

Pitch black color with a light brown head. Molassess, burnt raisins and a bit of dark chocolate notes come into play, but lacks the complexity of Panther or Guinness FES. Like Panther though lacks bitterness.

An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is dominated by straw. And the flavor is malty with notes of straw.

Blond color. Seems to show some hop in the aroma, but totally fails being too watery, a bit sweet and with a slight metallic aftertaste.
