Bottle @ home. Hazy orange colour with a small to medium sized white head. Smells hops, pine, spruce, slightly rotting leafs and slightly poopish... Maybe even some sulfur. Tastes very fresh and bitter, sweet, fruity, grapefruit, mango, some orangepeel, slightly minty. Medium body, great carbo.

I picked this up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, June 2013 consumed in the main field at Cropredy Fairport festival Saturday 10th August 2013 Pours dark brown with v.little head, crikey this smells so much of coffee, ah.. I get the double meaning of the name now. This is amazingly coffee like, perhaps a little one dimensional, but very good, the most coffeeish beer I’ve ever had by some margin. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle, thanks to Bruce. It pours darkest brown, nr black with a gigantic beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, charcoal, cocoa, dark fruit, berry and light candy. The taste is roasted malt, coal, earth, toast, light spice, faint metal, berry, ash and burnt notes with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body and very high carbonation. Too high carbonation.... But decent enough.

Consumed at home in the company of Loz, Craig, Stella & Kids plus Jackie & Simon 02.08.13 Nose is definately a little boozy but not overly so. Wonderful fresh bitter coffee with some booziness. Heavy in mouth, its a lovely beer, rushing this rating as Craig already pouring next beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

33cl Bottle from De Rooie Dop Brewdungeon. Thanks guys, and wow, you’ve outperformed yourselves with this one! Black colour with a nice creamy moccha head. Aroma of sharp bourbon without the vanilla note, liqourice, roasted malts, coffee and cream, sweet chocolate, toffee. Flavour is medium-sweet, very velvety in the mouth, chocolate, liqourice, soft subtle bourbon note, fairly hot but balanced by the thick mouthfeel, roasted malts, some sweet coffee, bitter finish with some liquorice and bourbon. Full-bodied, smooth creamy mouthfeel. Excellent stuff. Need to re-rerate the base beer after this.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - bottled on 26/03/13, from Slijterij Wijnhandel Acht Zaligheden, Maastricht, 20130719) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, pine and herbalness. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, caramell, pine, herbalness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Somewhat unbalanced brew. Aging might soften edges and make this beer better. Alcohol was pushing though a bit too intensely, too.

Bottle at home in the UK heat wave, 18th July 2013. Pours a thick rich drink, not much head. Aroma is pine sap, sour notes, taste is smooth, pine, a little citrus, some yeast elements, bitter finish with the malt cutting through. Excellent and very enjoyable DIPA
