Pretty nice pour but I see the descript says brilliant clarity, not. There are lots of precipitants floating around in this beer. Nice rocky head from a bottle. Smell is slightly off dull hops. Yes, lots of hops in this pale ale, and its bitter, but bitter in an almost imperceptible way compared to an IPA. Yes, mild IPA thing happening here. Bitterness grows during the session and manifests itself into a near medicinal feel on the palate. Yes, bitter thing on the finish fer sure, lasts for a while. Not impressed but not over the top either I guess.

No nose impressions of saisons. Cloudy lighter iced tea color. A little processed on the palate for a saison, but I’m no saison expert. Does not seem to have the 6% alky advertised here. Decent co2 with a medium personality behind it.

Sample at Daily Growler UA. We have officially reached the bottom of the barrel on hop puns with this one. Clear pale golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and roast malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, piney hops and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at PIB, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, some clove and other spices. Flavour brings out loads of spicy Belgian notes, Belgian yeast, and dry crackery notes. Unusual quad, being a lot lighter, dryer and spicier than usual dark quads. Well-balanced and drinkable.

Clear golden coloured body with only a hint of a light tan head and no movement at all. Nice fresh smell of hops, earth, funk, barnyard scents, hay, grass and yeast - a very fresh smell throughout with some fresh hops in the mix. Light-bodied; Sharp grassy flavour up front with a deep earhy and yeast kick, all with some lighter hops finishing up the beer. Aftertaste shows some grassy notes, a hint of citrus, a little bit of sweetness and a largely strong barnyardie flavour that persists. Overall, a decent APA with more grassy and herbal notes than I’d expect, but not in a bad way. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner), Virginia on 15-July-2014 for US$2,49 sampled at my brother-in-law’s house in Raleigh, North Carolina at 02-August-2014.
