Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Nice grapefruit aroma with pine and light earth. Grapefruit and pine flavor with light backing caramel. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Pine and grapefruit linger with light caramel.

12oz bottle pours with a deep clear copper body that supports a weak dirty white group of bubbles. The aroma offers up sugar, candied coriander, candied floral and flowery notes as well as syrupy sweet lemon grass. The taste is sugary, thin berry juice, more sugar and then a truck load of flowery perfume counter notes that are cut slightly by some spices. This is going in all the wrong places with the pervasive sweetness and flowery perfume. The right place at this juncture seems to be the kitchen sink drain.

Bottle at America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours hazy amber with small off-white head. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of citrus and touches of grass. Bitter and slightly acidic finish. Decent.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and mild citrusy. Smooth fruity, light bitter. Lingering mellow fruity and hoppy finish.

Bottle, 5.5%. Slightly hazy dark yellow with medium white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hops and a little citrus. Flavour is malt, fruit, hops, citrus, grapefruit, little sweet, pine and medium bitter.

Bottle from Whole Foods Westlake, Seattle
Hazy golden color, the color of the sun, with medium sized head. Fresh aroma, with a fruit salad: pineapple, white grapes, lytchee, peach; later the animal side of the hops appear. Lean mouthfeel; the malts are crispy, a bit toasty, with nice toffee and maybe even biscuit touch; strong bitterness, well incorporated, with a resiny final.
Lovely Double IPA.

Sample at 101 Beer Kitchen. Pours dark brown with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and earthy hops. The finish is dark fruits and sweet malt. Above average overall.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown/black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and "whiskey". Med body or better. Flavor is a big "whiskey" hit mellowing to chocolate, rye and smooth dark malt. Some woodiness is detectable. Well blended flavors. Extremely tasty.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, a touch of resin, and slight caramel malt backbone. Flavour is super pungent on the resinous hops, pine, slight candied sweetness, and biscuity caramel malt. Hugely resinous and piney, with just enough sweetness to back. Delicious.

Somewhat musty aroma, malty, bone dry finish. Chalky mouthfeel. Taste is malt and butter. Interesting mix.
