Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom. Pours hazy gold with a slight white head. Aroma is a mix of floral/resin/citrus. Med body. Flavor is floral, citrus, resin. With a slight roast caramel background. It’s rather hoppy, and the malt is more restrained than many APAs. Finishes with dry, moderately intense hop flavors.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet roasted, raisin, wood, dark fruit, moderate yeasty, dark fruits, date, figs. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet yeast, dark fruit, sharp, phenol, alcohol, tart berries ! [5/2/13] Draught at Mikkeler & Friends in Copenhagen. Deep red-brown color with a beige head. Malty aroma of caramel, spices, lots of dark fruits (plums, cherries, raisins) - somewhat vinous and liqueur-like. Sweet malty flavor, very spicy, with caramel and honty. Somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Hard to drink.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy dark tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry and roasty with faint notes of coffee, chocolate and floral hops. The flavor was dry, roasty and bitter with a bit of coffee and floral hops but no chocolate. Medium length finish and medium body. Disappointing.
