22oz bomber pours with a deep gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up some malt sweetened citrus, spicy hops, tropical mango fruitiness and a light sugary malt sweetness. The taste begins with big sugar malt sweetened tangelo and clementine juiciness. To midway a modest lime note joins in as the malt sweetness peaks with a modest degree of intensity. Darn good organic brew and one of the better ones I’ve had.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours translucent gold with a foamy near-white head. Loads of citrus over lightly sweet caramel for aroma. Med body or so. First flavor is lots of citrus. Then I get something that could be pine, but also suggests diacetyl. Followed by some grapefruit. Letting things calm down, the flavors that remain are mostly citrus and a very little caramel. It’s incredibly fresh and smooth given what seems to be a lot of hop and a high ABV. If there is diacetyl, it seems to have gotten lost with time. Good stuff.

12oz bottle pours with a hazy copper to gold body that supports a thin near white head. The aroma offers up malt sweetened pine hops and sweet citrus hard candy with floral hops in the background. The taste is similar with a thin Great Divide Old Ruffian malty resiny pine hop start. It then meanders into tangelo and clementine sweetened hard candy like hoppiness. There’s a mild sweet maltiness in the background to give this some base. Interest malt and hop mixture for a Pale and it lacks the crisp snappiness I enjoy in the style.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large fizzy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of nuts, caramel, stone fruits, tea. The taste is earth, herbal hops, toasted malts, mild nuttiness and caramel, mildly tart fruits and lingering hops return in the back end. Medium bodied.

12 oz. bottle. Typical color with thin white fizzy head. The nose is rich with deep roasted malts. Flavor is nearly as good, solid amount of milk chocolate, bakers chocolate and hints of charred ash. The body could use a bit more fullness. The charred ash has a chalky type of texture. Honestly this stout meet my expectations, nothing complex but no problems and really easy to drink for any stout lover. I only marked it down a tad because of the weak body, flavor is still here.

Bottle - thanks Brian! Pours hazy orange with a medium beige head, creamy and nice lacing. Aroma is grassy, grain, honey, herbs. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, herbal and light bitter. Not getting basil specifically, but an overall pleasant herbal character. Medium body. Quite interesting and certainly drinkable.
