Originally rated November 2009. Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band. Pours a dark brown (almost black) colour with hardly any highlights and its head is huge, light brown, super creamy, very long-lasting and beautiful thick lacing. Nice aromas of chocolate and burnt malts with notes of coffee and candy. Medium-bodied with a wet smooth and velvet mouthfeel. The taste is pretty smooth too. Not too bitter, not too roasted, not too sweet, but all of them well-mixed in one mouthful. Should have a bit more kick. Overall, pretty good though and a beautiful looking pint.

A deep dark stout with a super thick and frothy brown head. In aroma, lightly sweet chocolate, coffee, herbaceous notes and musty caramel. In mouth, a lightly sour bitter chocolate with loads of roasted coffee, lightly powdery mouthfeel, a bit of lactic points. Medium bodied. A tad intense and unbalanced.

Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band (summer 2009 and rated January 2010). Huge off-white head that is foamy and disappears at a medium pace, leaving some small traces of lacing. Its colour is golden-orange and hazy, with good amounts of carbonation. The aroma is pretty fruity, with some sweet malt and light hop. Fizzy mouthfeel and light-bodied. The taste is pretty tame with some grain malt, not even tasting the caramel malt expected. Over-carbonated amber ale that is only good to remember one of Saint John’s best mayor.

Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band (summer of 2009). This East Coast IPA creates a huge off-white head that is creamy and has a bit of the cascade effect. Very long lasting, creating an even thick lace all-around. Its colour is amber-orange and carbonation has some of the tiniest bubbles I have ever seen coming up very slowly. Quite a nice looking beer ! The hop is quite present in the aroma with some citrus notes. Medium light bodied with not much stick to it. A nice hoppy taste that is moderately bitter like an IPA should be, but not overly (so might not appeal to hopheads). In the second pour, the carbonation is extremely active with still small bubbles, but not as tiny as before. This time, the head does not seem to come down. I would have to say that this is an awesome IPA that is in the middle of them all, which has amazing drinkability, and is not too strong, not too weak. It definitely puts Keith’s IPA to shame for an East Coast one. Yippee !!
