A deep dark porter with a super thick brown head, gushed a bit. In aroma, light chocolate with light moka nites, light herbal notes. In mouth, a lightly sweet porter with light chocolate, moka, a tad herbal and infected, a bit boring.

A golden ale with a super thick frothy lacing white head. A herbal malt aroma, wild grass, light saltyness. In mouth, a smooth grassy malt with light British hopping, a bit if butterscotch, not bad.

Bought this one in Edmonston, N.B. when I was on tour with my band (summer 2009 - sampled January 2010). Pours a caramel-orange colour with a huge off-white head, long retention, foamy-cream texture and lacing all-around. Fruity nose with a touch of apples and grapes. Then, after breathing, notes of vanilla, malt and hop present themselves. Beautiful tiny bubble carbonation at an average pace and mouthfeel is wet, but not too watery... meaning, refreshing with a little stickiness and medium-bodied. Nutty and fruity malts, with some light bitterness in the finish and some grain malt in the aftertaste. It even gets hazy near the end of the bottle. Lots of aromas and flavours in this one. Just a wonderful Canadian version of the ESB that I would have anytime (if we could get it here).

Reserved bitterness with the hard to pin down fruit which i think it might be melon. Has a touch of dryness to it.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color beer with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with great notes of candi sugar with some medicinal notes. Taste is surprisingly bland with some very light sweet notes and a light cough syrup finish. Body is kind of thin with good carbonation. This was a very weird experience and doesn’t really resemble a dunkleweizen.

Dark brown. Nutty, slightly chocolatey aroma. Quite toasty, chocolatey, with a nice kiss of sweetness. Good fudgey balance.

Golden-amber colour. Earthy, herbal (mint) aroma. Fairly earthy, caramelly body is quite minerally. More English Pale but it’s a pretty nice example.

Hazy, straw colour with a light bubbly head. A lot of diacetyl on the nose with a little bit of pale malt. Some butter, some pale malt on the palate. The finish is really chalky.

Light amber with a slight haze. Some caramel and diacetyl in the aroma. Diacetyl-dominated palate is overcarbonated. There is nothing desirable in this beer, way too much diacetyl and it’s bloating me.
