Can. Can? Can. Can has beer. Beer has head. Beer has liquid. Orange. Smells like beer. Dad's beer. Beer from couch, poured on couch. Couch after football game, sunday morning, Bears lost. Dad angry. Dad growls out of bed at 11am. Dad sees me playing in front yard. Dad pulls belt from jeans, comes outside. Dad's pants fall down, he falls down, I run across street. Afternoon: Dad is back on couch, beer in hand. Smells a bit like he wet the bed and forgot to change. Mom gives look of defeat from kitchen. I smell water. Must be more pee. Dad glares at me as I play with my Tonka in the living room during football. Later I go to bed. Dad grumbles and swears, but eventually goes to bed too. I didn't like Dad's beer.

Soft caramel aroma with some spices buried in there. Slightly clear dark ruby body and a little head. Flavour is smooth caramel, soft black tea and a bit of christmas spice. A bit sugary on the mouth but abv is well hidden. Not a bad local effort.

500ml bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown almost black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and fudge. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses and fudge with a tart note in a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

50cl bottle at the Rossmount Inn, St Andrews NB. A rather cloudy amber pour with a ring of head; malty taste; with a fruity bitterness. Rather inspiring and disappointing.

On tap at Red Herring, St Andrews. Clear pale amber with a tiny short lived white head. Nose is grain, light honey, light toffee and a hint of grass and spice. Flavour is similar but quite subdued with a light sweetness and light+ bitterness and light spice. Mouth is quite thin with soft carbonation. Inoffensive. 6/2+/6-/2+/11

Very dark pour with no head, just a khaki ring. Nose is maple, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Light bitter chocolate with a medium roast nuttiness. Flat oily mouth , quite dry. I hope it is just this bottle that is flat. Need to revisit.

Clear dark amber with a tiny white head that doesn’t last. Prominent toffee and honey nose with faint grass and pine notes. Light sweet toffee with a muddled medium- bitterness. Medium slick mouth with soft carbonation and a short bitter finish. No date on this bottle, but I’m hoping it is just off. Will update if the next one is any better.
