Deep mahogany with a one finger khaki head that fades quickly. Nose of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and roasted nuts. Flavour leans more to the roast side with a dominant nuttiness and a mild bitter chocolate. Medium- creamy mouth with slightly soft carbonation. Just an OK porter.

Purchased at NB Liquor on my trip to the east coast. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a creamy off-white cap, decent retention and some good lacing. Grainy nose with some caramel, so not too pils-like. The taste is where this comes out with the Euro grass hops. Covers the grain. Not sure about the Impy Pilsner style with the look and aromas, but a good brew nonetheless.

Keg at Stillwell. It pours clear mahogany brown with a decent white head. The nose is soft, caramel, dried fruits, candied apricot, toasty brown sugars, nut and brown bread. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy, woody, oily, toasted nuts, cereal, leather, brown bread and caramel with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid esb style action. Works well.

Thanks to my friend Nic for getting a growler of this in N.B. Almost pitch black with a nice beige foamy head, good retention and creamy lacing. Beautiful aromas of roasted malts, molasses, notes of chocolate, coffee and nuts. The taste is a little milder but still good with the burnt malt. That is about it for the smokiness though. Seems more like a stout than a porter. Pretty good though.

Thanks to my friend Nic for bringing this back from his trip at the brewery. Pours a slight hazy golden-amber colour with a big frothy warm-yellow cap with good retention and lacing. Apple-like aromas from the malt with spicy notes and very mild honey. The taste is a mix of the apples with the mild grass from the hops. Quite a nice blonde ale that has loads of apples, but not on the sweet-side and definitely not cider. Not sure if this is from the fact that it is old, but I like it.

Thanks to my friend Nic that brought this back from the Lunar Rogue Pub. Pours an amber deep colour with a warm cap that goes down quickly and not much lacing is left. Grainy smell of malts with caramel notes and a little hop. Again, the grain taste with mild caramel, but this is where the hops shine. Wet mouthfeel with some nice dryness in the finish. A great session amber amber ale with some decent hoppy bite. Does not feel light at all.
