Starch white foamy head as a pillow with a darker yellow body. Aroma is almost nothing, just a hint of cardboard. Flavour is citrus with a hint of hops and paper, followed by a watery finish. This is a very bad lager.

Originally rated November 2005. This beer is now brewed by Sleeman Maritimes and I think only found in the maritimes, Canada. Thanks to Pedro for sharing this one with me. Pours a clean amber colour with decent sloppy lacing. Nice caramel aromas with some hoppy nose. The mouthfeel is semi-watery. The taste, I would say, is the weakest point of this brew, but still quite decent for a cream ale. Mild bitterness, alcohol and grain malt flavours. A slightly better than average cream ale.

Copper amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a sweetish malts with notes of iodine, and cinnamon notes. In mouth, a sweet lightly spiced caramel malt, fusel alcohol, short in mouth. Not very good. Early 2007.

This cream ale poured adark yellow colour with a little off white head. First to the nose was this metallic scent then came the scent of dark malts with brown sugar. A little nuttiness to it also. First sip was pretty good with flavours of molassass and wine. Palate was not bad but syrupy.

Bright ambe; slighlty toasty, caramelly aroma. Very sweet palate - corn & caramel. Candyish caramel finish.

Has that almost smokey dark caramel note. Medium amber colour. Mostly caramel throughout, however. Useless beer.

The name would indicate a steinbier, but the flavour doesn't really live up. It wouldn't suit this mainstream brewery either. This beer is caramelly, with some really strange cheese popcorn flavours.

One of the anomalies of the beer world is the use of the term IPA in Atlantic Canada for bland golden ales. This stems from Keith's IPA, which probably was an India Pale seventy-five or one hundred years ago, but has not been in a long time. So this beer is mislabelled in an attempt to compete with Keith's. Confusing, I know.
