Description
Our calling came from above to bring the taste of heaven to Herne, god looked down and saw that it was 'Goody Ales'.

We were both teachers before we saw the light. A voice from above said let there be light ale.

It was written in scriptures that towards the end of days, a brewery would be born in Herne and it will be named Goody Ales.

From that day forth fine ales will be brewed using the god given fruits of the earth - barley, water, hops and a sprinkling of manna.

Goody Ales use traditional methods to produce cask conditioned and bottled English beer. We brew with the finest quality floor malted Maris Otter barley and Kentish hops. The brewing process utilises nothing more than malt, water, yeast and hops to provide you with pure Kentish beer.

3.5% bottle from Goods Shed Canterbury. Malty chocolate dark fruits aroma. A little green hop oilyness on the finish. Mostly a mid dark mild. Which is pleasant. Not the Gadds green hop which preceded this and was awesome. But it’s fine. Decent. Good malt if just a little lacking somwwhere. Hops on finish are balanced but also nicely biting. Impressive.

3.8% bottle from Good Shed Canterbury. Malty briwn bitter. Some light chocolate aroma then aggressive oily green hop flavour and finish with the chocolate coming back. Some bitterness. Rather tasty and I do like the green hop oilyness. Fine

Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Ian. Copper / red coloured pour with a loose off white head. Aroma is light smoke phenol, caramel malts, touch of rubber. Flavour is composed of stale malts, light caramel, sweet unrefined sugars, Palate is dryish, grainy tanin. Poor.

Bottle at the chriso May 2014 tasting - London. Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy white head. A bit farty and leafy, with generic bready sugars. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sugary on the finish with notes of toffee, bread, and there’s a bit more leafy bitterness, too. Eh.
