Description
Four lifelong Oregonians got together on February 13, 2009 and decided that their knowledge of locale and understanding of craft beer could be an excellent starting point for a business. Later that year Hop Valley Brewing had its debut in Springfield, Oregon, but grew too large for its 15-barrel capacity and opened a new 60-barrel brewhouse and taproom in Eugene in 2013. In July 2016 MillerCoors acquired a majority stake of Hop Valley through its Tenth and Blake craft beer and import division. Hop Valley Brewing Company will operate as a separate business unit of Tenth and Blake.

12 oz from a six pack. Aroma is bready, sweet smelling, Red Vines, coconut. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with good retention. Taste is moderately sweet with a lightly bitter edge, finishing dry.

19.2 oz can from WinCo. Hazy orange golden with a short-lived one finger head, fading down to a thin creamy cap. Light citrusy aroma, hoppy presence. Taste is both sweet and bitter, citrus, light dank, juicy. Well rounded easy drinker.

Pours lightly hazy gold. The aroma is mainly citrus hops. The flavor is moderately bitter with tropical fruit, hop resin, and a little caramel. Quite good.

12 oz. can in a trade with tfontana. BBD: 08/24/21. Barely making that best by date! Yikes! Aroma is orange marmalade, apricot, and pine. Yep, marmalade, mixed fruit, subtle pine/herb finish. Very old recipe. Weak at best.

Build-a-sixer can from HyVee, Spencer, IA. Best by 8-3-21. Sweet and dank hop smell soon as I pull the tab. Pours hazy gold beer under a think head that also has a golden tinge. Taste is a bit fruity, both tropical fruit and a bit of citrus, even a note of pear. Malts are light to keep this nice and easy drinking.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is not much just some random fruity hops. Flavor is not much or any better. a very small generic fruit hop some chewy neutral malt. Very weak.

Can (best by 8/24/21) from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. Appearance is clear golden yellow with tons of sparkle, three finger width white foamy head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is dank pine and citrus, light pineapple as it warms. Taste is pineapple, fruit salad. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and crisp, fairly dry finish as taste. Overall surprising taste given the aroma, which was nice. Thin.
