Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a light, white cream head. Semi-ripe fruits on the nose, some bready malts. Medium sweet flavor with further bread and ripe berries. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, more of the same bread and ripe berries. Nice if a bit one-dimensional.

On tap at Kafe Belgie. Pours a clear deep amber with a reddish brown hue and a grayish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has earthy grains with a bit of smoked meat and smoked wood underlying. Flavor has earthy grains and smoke with a decent amount of smoked meat.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Dry, roasty dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, a touch of liquorice. Taste is dry dark malty, hints of dark chocolate, dry, minimally grassy hoppy overtones, a dry touch of fruit parings. Relatively light and almost a bit watery.
