Cask @ Turls Green, Bradford. Clear copper-gold with a thin head. Smoked in both aroma and taste, but not overly so as there’s a clear sweetness evident too, which is most notable in its taste. A little thin tasting in the palate.

Cask half-pint in the Captain Noel Newton, Oakham on 15th March 2016. Looked fine, with a red hue to the dark amber pour, solid and lasting head. Peat Bog aroma and taste, malty and semi-sweet. Did not take to it at all.

Cask handpull at Society Rooms Maidstone. Jdw clear mid brown red colour lasting beige head. some peat on aroma no doubt. Peaty but also sweet malt flavour. Peat us kept in trim . It’s a nice almost Stilton like addition without taking over. Some pear some sblud cheese. Interesting no doubt. Lacks condition. Fun blue cheese.

Cask at King and Castle, Windsor. Thanks TBois. Pours brown with thin head. Aroma of toffee, fruit cake and a little smoke and peat. Tastes a big smoky, peaty hit with malts and fruits in the background. OK beer and about the level of a Spoons special

Cask at the King and Castle, Tourist Town Zentrum, 15/03/16. Reddish amber with a decent light beige covering that retains well. Nose is peated malt, toffee, fruit cake, light band aid notes.Taste comprises smoked malt, toffee, light smoke, toffee apple, biscuit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a prominent peaty linger. Decent enough smoked affair.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - deep amber to red with a decent head. Nose - smoked redcurrants and oranges. Taste - peat smoke and underlying oranges. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy and smoky texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - enjoyable.

Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Reddish copper with a ring of white head; fruity aroma with a touch of smoke; sweet apple juice taste with a pelasnt light peaty body; the smoke gives a lingering dry finish with some caramel. I’m not a fan of the style, but this is quite subtle and better than many smoked beers I’ve tried.
