Tap pint. Pours dark amber with thick off-white long lasting head. Almost no aroma but sweet caramel is present. Taste is dry and light bitter. Palate is round, smooth and filling, with a mild carbonation. Caramel and malt is present in the finish, but also some nutty notes.

Keg @ Wetherspoon, Elgin
Appearance - Light brown, thin dense nitro keg head.
Aroma - Err, not much. Bit of dark malt.
Taste - Sweet and slight roast malt. Cereal. Some hop bitterness with a hint of metal. Not unpleasant but very so-so.
Palate - Finish is moderate bitterness, sweet malt, cereal, bit metallic.
Overall - Drinkable, not much flavour or aroma, but not unpleasent. Just boring and plain. Better than the cask version which was terrible when I tried it.

0.5l can. Pours a first, strange looking murky creamy body but it turned out to only be the nitro making that effect because it disappeared after 20 seconds. Then it became a clear light brownish beer with a everlasting creamy khaki nitro head. Aroma is light roasted malts with hints of some brown nuts and thin caramel. No carbonation, light-bodied with a mild creamy to oily mouthfeeling. Tastes OK enough. Light roasted, notes of thin coffee and perhaps even some caramel in here as well? Ends light dry. Drinkable.

Cask @ Harkers, York. 180611. Light brown, clear ale with rich white head. Aroma of faint malt and cereal. Taste - initial sweetness of malt then a rough metallic bitterness which gets more intense with drinking (I could only finish half as pint). The awful metallic finish (tastes of copper coins) overwhelms the initial bland malt taste. Unpleasant to drink. The keg version is actually better - it tastes of very little but the finish is no way so harsh. One of the worst cask beers I’ve tasted.

(Keg at London City Airport, 22 May 2011) Dark amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with apricots and toast. Malty taste with notes of caramel, nuts, dried fruit and apricots. Rather thin body, with balanced sweetness and a mild bitterness. Drinkable, but hardly daring.
