Keg at the Redan. Pours clear, amber-gold with a dense, white head. Some doughy malts on the nose, nothing else. Flavor is pretty wretched, some doughy malts, cheese, chemicals, leaves. Light bodied, smooth with soft carbonation. Some sugars in the finish, bland, artificial malts. This is almost not drinkable.

Live rating: 440ml can at home on 10th January 2011. Pours amber with a 10mm head of yellow-white foam. Yeasty aroma whilst pouring. Mild hop notes and a cheesy taste in-mouth. Short-lived rather bitter finish, one or two mineral notes. High carbonation. Thirst quenching, not unpleasant, but not massively flavoursome either.

500ml widget can. Caramel, cream nitro head. Mild aroma and taste of caramel with a hint of grass. Dryish finish. Starts to taste artificial and metallic as it warms even a little. Drinkable but very dull.

Cask handpull at The Crown Hotel, Liverpool. Some yeast on aroma, some malt in mouth, but this is a very uninteresting bitter with an odd yeast to it.

1/12 Bought a 0.5 l nitro can with Doggythedog in English store, Antibes. It poured copper body with typical medium sized cascading head. Caramel and biscuit aroma, nice and pretty strong. Interesting how it’s not killed with that nitro head. Flavor is typically weaker, very thin, slightly biscuity and cardboard bitter. Very watery and thin in body, with short, but fine, now slightly sweetish caramel finish. Quite good, but it only had somewhat more body, which is on the other side typical for Bitters.
