Cask at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours almost black, with limited light brown foam, fine. Aroma is roasted malt, some vanilla, a hint of hazelnut. Body is very smooth, kind of light, with minimal carbonation. Taste is limited sweet, with a bit of enjoyable bitterness. Roasty feeling well evident. Finish is regular, or kind of short.

Bottle at Mum and Dads, 23/09/18. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a decent off white cap. Nose is pale malts, grassy, orange peel, light citric pith. Taste comprises tangerine, grass, crackers, biscuit crumbs, toasted grains, airy malts. Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, semi drying close with modest hop bitterness. Average golden affair ... weakest effort to date for me with this brewer.

Black beer, thin head which dissipates quite quickly. Dry, malty aroma with a touch of fruit. Rich flavour of toasty, dry malt, fruit, a bit of woody, booziness from the casks and a little chocolate in there too. Quite straightforward but really tasty and dangerously smooth for the strength.

Bottle at home, picked up from Callans, 05/01/19. Clear golden copper with a decent off white covering. Nose is fruit esters, brown bread, apple skins, biscuit, hint of caramel. Taste comprises stewed fruits, light sugars, grass, toasted malts. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Average stuff, overcarbed and whelming all round.

Can at Mum and Dads from Tesco Extra, Dundalk, 21/09/18. Almost clear golden amber with a decent off white covering Nose is biscuit malt, caramel, light spice, stewed fruits. Taste comprises fruit loaf, light caramel, light spice, hint of red berries, biscuit, toffee. Medium bodied, fine to spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for the style.

Can at Mum and Dads from Tesco Extra, Dundalk, 21/09/18. Hazed light golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is grassy, lychee, melon, tangerine, toasted bread. Taste comprises orange pith, grassy bite, light pine, toasted malts, melon, hint of pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with grassy hop bitterness. Decent enough sessioner.

Nose is grassy, light pine, peach, orange pith, ripe tropicana. Taste comprises orange pith, grassy bite, toasted grains, pine needle, melon, mango, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy to lightly dankened hop bitterness. Decent bitter tasting APA.
