Description
On St. Patrick’s Day 2007, Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom was unveiled to a thirsty public. Double Mountain was founded by Matt Swihart and Charlie Devereaux with a clear mission: make great beer for craft beer fans! Ours is a “brewers’ brewery”, with an uncompromising focus on beer quality. From the beginning, our goal was to make beers that we liked to drink. All of our beers are served up unfiltered and long-aged, to deliver maximum flavor and character. The beers can be very complex and assertive, but with the ultimate goal of proper balance. We aim to satisfy both the hardcore aficionados and the more casual craft beer fan, all in the same glass.

500ml bottle from Double Mountain taproom, Hood River. Pours clear pale gold. Aroma of medium, clean apple fruit. Taste presents a nice balanced medium, not too much apple character shining through, no tannin, but it's flavourful, well carbonated with a nice acidic linger.

375ml bottle from the brewery taproom. Consumed after a long drive from Crater Lake along the Umpqua River scenic route to Reedsport. Pours pale gold with a faint mist. Good brandy and whisky nose, alongside some lightly sweet apple fruit. The barrel-aging influence mellows somewhat to taste with gentle, lingering vanilla / butterscotch murmurs that works well with the underlying oaky dry cider. Very enjoyable and drinks like half its strength.

500 ml bottle. Pours a clear orange color with a large white head. A citrus bready nose. Smooth, lighter clean flavors, mild to medium bitterness, lemons, some bitterness in the finish. Sort of interesting. Clean like a lager at times, but also big bitter old school IPA flavors.

Bottle. Reddish amber color. Red fruit, peach and grassy notes in the aroma. Hints of caramel, citrus, red fruit and grassy notes in the malty sweetish flavor. Tasty, but smooth and not really assertive.
