Description

Želimo svim pivoljupcima objasniti magiju nastajanja piva, važnost kvalitete sastojaka i približiti bezbrojne kombinacije okusa i aroma.

Bottle, 0.33l. Murky dark brown color with large frothy light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, mild roasted malt, coffee, smoke and grass. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, following is a bit grainy with prevailing licorice note, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, sticky texture and soft carbonation in palate. This one deserves being in the dragon family...

Bottle at Tovjerna Sesame, Dubrovnik. Black body with a thin beige head that quickly fades. Steady carbonation. Very faint lacing. Aroma of treacle, syrup, Ribena and liquorice. Flavour of demerara sugar, dark chocolate, cherry, orange and blackcurrant. Thin to medium body with a smooth oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Nice depth of flavour. Very close to a Black IPA.

Bottle at Tovjerna Sesame, Dubrovnik. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Lots of lacing. Aroma of orange, floral hops, caramel and peach. Flavour of lightly roasted malts, orange, pineapple and a bitter, flowery hop finish. The Mrs says it tastes like Solero Exotic ice-lolly - fair comment. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A quality beer.

On tap at Tolkien’s House Zagreb. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, fruity hoppy nose. Moderate malty, grainy, tropical fruits and slight alcohol with rather bitter and long bitter finish and aftertaste. Starts sweet but ends really bitter. Once again decent dragon.

Re-rating this one after half a year. Pours a clear golden color, topped with a fairly big and lasting frothy head, white color. Super amazing aroma, lots of tropical fruits, very fresh and some mild pine presence in the back. Taste starts with pleasant fruity sweetness, some malty feel in the back of it, followed by a very generous hoppy bitterness which continues into mild but very lasting aftertaste. Great example of a real, straightforward IPA.

330 ml bottle acquired by Werckmeister for me, thanks!
Dark brown to black body, with a small, creamy, beige head.
Quite light aroma of cocoa, nuts, bread, dark fruits.
Tastes of roast, ash, cocoa, nuts, dark fruits.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty, quite dry, a bit ashy, with cocoa and some fruits.

Nice, but I was expecting more. Quite light and a bit flat, with a pretty boring nose. Taste has some nice ash and cocoa notes though, but overall I prefer Porters who are fuller and more varied.

Bottle 0.33l. Clear amber color with medium soapy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of mango, caramel, citrus and bread. Taste starts light sweet and sour grainy, follows resinous and by refreshing fruity acidity , mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Fruit and spicy APA, but a bit too plain, although very drinkable...
