Lots of creamy off white foam ride on top of this almost black, garnet tinged dark brown beer. Brown sugar aroma. Heavy sweet caramel/brown sugar flavor. Liquid Sugar Babies. Slightly over carbonated. Too sweet and one dimensional for me, but this is an easy drinking beer than undeveloped palate would probably find quite enjoyable.

Dark burgundy pour, with decent, lasting, frothy head - aroma is mostly roasted malt, with some caramel and a touch of wood - tastes kind of like a so-so homebrewed abbey ale - some spice, caramel and dark fruit presence - but the body is thin, the finish watery, and the alcohol far too evident throughout - the sweetness is almost artificial, aspartame-like - not all that good.

Very deep, red-chestnut beer with brownish small head. Very aromatic nose with C-hops, grapes, grapecake, chocolate, wood and tannines. Higher alcohols, heavy sweetness, but filtered by a hopsflavour. Chocolate, dry hops, dried grapes (rather than sultana’s), lipsmacking stickyness, but at the same time dry hoppiness to round off. Very well-bodied, rather Imperial than Brown. Extremely nice beer. It’s definitely not overpowering as an Imperial Barley Wine, but gratifying rather. Even when the beer was not served in ideal circumstances. Again big thanks to eyedrinkale and mkobes.

Bottled. Very dark ruby - near black, aveage head. Grapefruity nose. A tarry flavour jumps in my face at first sip. Near full bodied with clean mouthfeel. Licorice dominates. A very extrovert beer with direct, sharp flavours and inky finish.

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, mediumsized white head. Bready, grassy, ,caramellish, a bit dull "old homes" aroma. Still very interesting. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, caramel and coffee. Fullbodied and very complex. Strong alcohol in finish.

Pour is a dark red with a white head. Aroma is hoppy and cinnamon. Flavor is chocolate and molasses with a slight alcohol burn at the end. Nothing really special or great.

Very dark ruby red, almost opaque, small expresso head. Light metallic aroma of sweat and malts. Roasted, medium-bodied, backed with alcohol. Long bitter coffee taste in the aftertaste.

bottle - Pours with a thin head, fades kind of quickly. Mild, malty aroma. Flavor has some hoppy bitterness, but not as much as most pale ales I’ve had. Fairly clean finish, just leaves a mild aftertaste, but not unpleasant. This brew is okay. I liked their Messiah Bold better though.

bottle - Amusing marketing campaign... I’m going to assume the brewers are Jewish as I’m not sure anyone else could get away with it. Now on to the beer. It’s got a medium head with some legs. Flavor is malty with a dry finish that’s really quite nice. Unlike many here, I like a good brown ale once in awhile and this is a good brown ale. It won’t blow you away, but I don’t think it will disappoint either. Huzzah!

Bottle. Dark amber-brown beer with a nice light brown head. Low malt aroma with some roast. Sweet malt and spice flavor - some roastiness, chocolate - but quite sweet. Just enough hops to notice. 9 malts and 9 hops - it’s definately the malts that add a bit of complexity to this one.
