Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice muddied, deeper brown glow with hints of gold and copper towards the bottom, all with a nice and relatively thick, three centimetre tall rich brown head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of cloves, cardamom, canella, nutmeg, star anise and a noticeable amount of both rich caramel malts and a ton of alcohol here, along with some pitted fruits. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich nutty and earthy malts dominate here at first with a big kick of grain and rustic qualities, but the spices come soon afterward and bring out some allspice and nutmeg with a tiny hint of canella towards the end with a grainy bite at the end. Aftertaste is rich and deep with a bunch of nutty aspects, but the sugars outweigh all of those and bring out some nice caramelised sugar flavours with the pitted fruits and some alcohol warmth of course on the end. Overall, a nice and enjoyable beer with a nutty, earthy and caramel kick with a bunch of spices and some alcohol warmth, but surprisingly balanced well throughout with a great complexity. Great to sample, especially during the season and in the best city for Christmas - New York! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Washington (West End), D.C. on 24-November-2021 for US$3,50, canned on 27-October-2021 and sampled in my hotel room and on the streets of New York (Chelsea), New York on 20-December-2021.

(Thanks, Andy! nimbleprop) Bottle. A- Sweet, toffee, caramel. A- Dark brown color, hazy liquid, no head. T- Sweet, brown sugar, mild oak, mild alcohol. P- Medium body, thin texture, flat carbonation, sweet finish. O- At almost 12 years old this was definitely past it's prime. A bit of a sweet mess. Not a drain pour but I was ready for this one to be done before I was even halfway through. Disappointed but it's a decade old.

16oz can clear amber white head.Β  Cream cheese and pumpkin and nutmeg and light coffee. Flavor is a little flabby at first with muddled sweetness, but a good spice level straightens it out. Dry finish..Β  7 3 7 4 13
