Fantastic darker amber colour with a long lasting tan head. Smells of sugar, molasses and canella rise from the glass. Good medium-bodied beer with a nice and not overpowering 'wintery' flavour. The aftertaste lacks a little bit, being bland...but all in all, a great overall beer. Just what I have come to expect from Great Lakes. Only one not-so-great beer from the whole lot is a pretty big deal to me.

Many breweries would try to pass this off as an IPA - it sure is as hoppy as some "IPAs" anyway - this is really a perfectly balanced pale ale - the malt/hop balance is the best you'll find in the style - and the slighty bready presence really tops it off and creates a fuller flavor - slight woody finish that's nice and clean - an excellent pale ale.

Complete with a thick, white head only Moses could part! Waves of coriander, orange, and wheat lap to, rather than crash to, the shore of my anxious mouth. Teasing apart these wits is tough, but I feel Holy Moses is a competent example. Perhaps a touch too bitter and too carbonated. Still, I'd swim in a choppy pool of the Holy Moses.

Very light golden colour, even for a lager it was too light. The aroma was made up of a slight hoppyness and some good smelling fruit. While this aroma was pleasant, it was also very mild. The taste was twice as mild as the aroma. I don't believe I tasted much other than a very basic hop and malt flavouring. I loved Great Lakes' other beers, but this was a pretty big disapointment, even for a Lager! Try the Burning River if you are looking for some good flavours.

Golden colour with a very slight orange tint. Many small bubbles rising from the bottom, while a small white head sits atop. Smells of hops and malt and a semi-strong ale. A nice flavourful beer with definate hoppy inital taste with a very smooth aftertaste. A good all around beer, but not my favourite style.

Black colour with a light brown head. The beer is not completely opaque, as brown arises from the bottom. The aroma is of definate chocolate. A full-bodied beer with a malt flavour and aftertaste of coffee and bitterness! Definately worth a try as all the beers from Great Lakes!

Great crimson colour with an excellent off-white head that lasts and lasts! Sweet smell with hints of fruit! Nice combination of early hops and latter malt create a nice feel in the mouth, and a great aftertaste. Once again, not one of my favourite styles, but this brewery definately has something going for them!!!

Red tint to a golden colour. Head initially came from the bottle, but as I noticed this, I poured very slowly so no extraneous head could arise. Instead of a good amount of head, absolutely none came. Sour, sweet fruity aroma! A great mix of malt and hops to make a good Irish ale. Just like fellow jah_noth from Rochester as well....I typically don't like Irish Ale's much, but this one is quite an exception. I (jah as well probably) noticed a decent selection of this brewer's beers at our local shop, so I picked up every style they made, and I'm quite impressed with every single beer i've had of Great Lakes'! Too bad I can't find the IPA anywhere around!!!

Dortmunder is in the top echelon of lagers. Rich, golden pour with plenty of lacing. The lager tastes like a liquid cookie, with bready, sugary malts and a slight acidic aftertaste, followed by hops bitterness. Rich and luxurious, apprentices.

Dark in colour to a normal APA, quick fading head. Malty taste but definately hoppy. A good overall APA!
