Interesting beer. Has a sweet malty taste, with a little hops balance. Overall gives a thin, sweet impression. Not one of my favorites, but a smooth drink nonetheless. So far my favorite Great Lakes varieties are the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and the Dortmunder Gold.

A very fine pale ale. Rich copper color with a citrusy aroma and flavor. I would suggest Burning River Pale Ale is pretty typical of good beers in this style.

Bright golden with a thick head. Smooth, complex malts with pine and spice. Very spicy, like a cinnamon stick. Good balance. Rich malts, light spruce. Excellent brew.

Bright reddish-amber; big cascade nose; light pale maltiness, well-balanced citrus - wood, pale and amber malts. Very nicely balanced. Dry, pithy, citrusy finish.

Great Lakes never fails to please! While not as appealing as some of their other offerings, this is still a decent beer. Dark orange-red color with a thin beige head. Spiced aroma. Flavor consisting of spices (cinnamon and ginger) with a pinch of hops at the end. Overall not a bad seasonal.

GABF 2002: Cloudy copper color. Lemony zesty aroma. Candyish bubblegum flavor. Strong and rich, almost cloying.

Rich aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Very dark red-brown; not totally opaque. Good tan head. Strong rich roasted flavor, and a reminiscience of iced coffee. Very smooth. A dry stout?

Had the draft version at the Renaissance in downtown Cleveland. Once again, Great Lakes can do no wrong in my book. Wonderful effervescence on the pour, and a nice off-white head. The lacing was what really impressed me though. Similar to how you can tell how old a tree is by counting the rings, the lacing allowed you to see the previous level where your beer was before each sip. So by the end I had a nice ripple effect down the entire length of the inside of my glass. I have never seen that before and it was very cool. As for the flavor, very good as well. Malty oat flavor. Another winner from GLBC.

Another winner from Great Lakes. Excellent amber color and thick head. Viennas aren't my favorite but I will make an exception in this case. Nutty aftertaste and sweet flavor with a perfect amount of hops to balance. This is definitely one to keep on hand.

I was afraid this beer was named for the sensation on the way back out, but that's not the case at all. Hops that jerk your head around, Barq's wishes it had this bite!
