Draft, at GLBC. How did I miss trying this until now? Good pils color and a nice German hops smell. Thin head. A striking pale malt taste – yes, a pale-type lager with taste – with that slight note of hardened water. Nicely done.

Draft, at GLBC. Well, I was there this weekend as they were just putting out that batch Tmoney99 referred to. So it’s fresh out of the tank. A big fresh grapefruitty smell. Color is a lighter orange than in other IPAs. Nicely sweet, yet. Also get notes of pineapple and oak leaves. Big on bitter aftertaste. Hey, if it ain’t bitter, it ain’t beer!

Pour is a bright gold with a white head. Aroma is malty with a touch of hops. Flavor is crisp and dry. Malts used in this one carry the beer. If you in the mood for a malty lager then this is for you.

I am reasonably fond of this brewer in general. This one has been sitting in the back of my beer fridge since the holidays and I just now got around to trying it for the first time. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma is sweet and very spicy with notes of cinnamon and allspice and a caramel note. The flavor is fairly sweet with a strong and spicy element with nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice noticeable and a strong toasted caramel presence. There is a moderately thick body. It is fairly sweet. The spiciness lingers on the palate. Sadly I will have to wait until next holiday season before buying more.

Noogfest Deep black pour with a tan head. The aroma is heavy chocolate and coffee. The flavor is roasty bitterness, balanced nicely with just enough sweetness from the chocolate and coffee. Not bad.

Bottled. Amber colour. Caramel aroma. Sweet with dense mouthfeel. Intense grapefruity hoppiness over a lovely malt character and a lingering very bitter finish. Like with almost every Great Lakes beer this is perfect quality.

Bottled. Black, small creamy head. Coffeeish, roasty aroma. Dry with soft mouthfeel and notes of licorice and a pleasantly bitter finish. Very elegant. Quality all the way through.

Thanks to BennyTicklez for sending this. An off white head of creamy foam tops the clear, dark amber brew below. Light lemony hops aroma invite a taste. Lightly malty with the proper amount of hops for balance make this a very good Pale Ale. Very drinkable.

2005 bottle from SkepticMAP, a very gracious trader! Deep orange-red. Small bubbles rise in vertical shafts from the sides of the glass, quite aggressively. Clear. Off-white head is quickly receding to ring. Smells of light raspberries, dry toast/toasted malt, hints of alcohol. Tastes of sweet and buttery malt, lots of waxy crayons. It’s either wax or baked dough I’m tasting. Medium body, much too dry and bready on the end and I just can’t shake the notion that I’m tasting ground up crayons. Low carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a light ruby color ale with a medium light brown foamy head with a quite excellent retention. Aroma of light spices, honey with some bitter hops. Taste is lighter then expected with the honey being immediately recognizable. Bitter taste at the end is also quite enjoyable. I would have hope for a bit more malt and more character for a ‘’Christmas’’ special type beer.
