Red tint to a golden colour. Head initially came from the bottle, but as I noticed this, I poured very slowly so no extraneous head could arise. Instead of a good amount of head, absolutely none came. Sour, sweet fruity aroma! A great mix of malt and hops to make a good Irish ale. Just like fellow jah_noth from Rochester as well....I typically don't like Irish Ale's much, but this one is quite an exception. I (jah as well probably) noticed a decent selection of this brewer's beers at our local shop, so I picked up every style they made, and I'm quite impressed with every single beer i've had of Great Lakes'! Too bad I can't find the IPA anywhere around!!!

Dortmunder is in the top echelon of lagers. Rich, golden pour with plenty of lacing. The lager tastes like a liquid cookie, with bready, sugary malts and a slight acidic aftertaste, followed by hops bitterness. Rich and luxurious, apprentices.

Dark in colour to a normal APA, quick fading head. Malty taste but definately hoppy. A good overall APA!

Interesting beer. Has a sweet malty taste, with a little hops balance. Overall gives a thin, sweet impression. Not one of my favorites, but a smooth drink nonetheless. So far my favorite Great Lakes varieties are the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and the Dortmunder Gold.

A very fine pale ale. Rich copper color with a citrusy aroma and flavor. I would suggest Burning River Pale Ale is pretty typical of good beers in this style.

Bright reddish-amber; big cascade nose; light pale maltiness, well-balanced citrus - wood, pale and amber malts. Very nicely balanced. Dry, pithy, citrusy finish.

Great Lakes never fails to please! While not as appealing as some of their other offerings, this is still a decent beer. Dark orange-red color with a thin beige head. Spiced aroma. Flavor consisting of spices (cinnamon and ginger) with a pinch of hops at the end. Overall not a bad seasonal.

Rich aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Very dark red-brown; not totally opaque. Good tan head. Strong rich roasted flavor, and a reminiscience of iced coffee. Very smooth. A dry stout?
