Bottle from Tavour Solid black in color with a good sized tan head that slowly recedes. Roasty chocolate and light fruit with some hints of vanilla and barely some wood and spirit. Decent sipper.

Bottle pour into stemless wine glass from Valley Beverage. Appearance is opaque black with nice sparkle at the sides of the glass, chunky light sediment floating in bottom third of glass, thin cap of beige head that resolves quickly and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, initial mint (vanishes as it warms). Taste is roasted malt with hint of tart fruit, balanced by late, milder European earthy hop bitterness. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, decent roasted malt but not much else. Fair representation of the style but not breaking any ground.

Red brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have a nice mix of floral, bitter hops and sweet caramel. A touch of candy sweetness too.
