330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma reveals a very nice Belgian yeast expression that melds well with the unmistakable tawny port expression, along with toffee and bready malt. Flavour is complex and elegant, revealing big tawny port barrels upfront, moderate tannins, spicy Belgian yeast, and a touch of toffee. On the drier side for a quad, with that fitting above-average carbonation. Wonderful barrel expression with a great base. Excellent.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a medium beige head. Nose reveals moderate red wine presence, plenty of complex Belgian yeast, a touch of bready toffee, and subtle dark dried fruits. Flavour is complex and elegant, with a wonderful Belgian yeast expression, some dark dried fruits, dry toffee, light spices, and of course the red wine barrel presence from the Madeira adding subtle sugars and light tannins. The base beer is of course an excellent, finely calibrated quad, and the barrels add great accentuation to the yeast expression. Wonderful.

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with short tan head. Aromas of of whisky, oak, chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors of hot fruity whisky, dark fruit, cocoa powder, and roasted malts. Definite alcohol presence but it’s complementary and not distracting. Good.

MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, pretty bitter, grapefruit, zesty, tropical fruits, hoppy, refreshing, lemony, sweet touch. Aftertaste: hoppy, fruity, grassy, more hops, very nice!

Bottle shared with Joen and Laura. Dark red brown color, small off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, light tart, distant booze notes, wood. Sweetish a bit as well, but also some bitters. Average body. Firm carbonation. Hmm not great. 7-6,5-6-5-6
