Description
Fat Head's was founded in 1992 as a premiere craft beer tap house and restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2009 we expanded to Ohio and teamed up with our award-winning Head Brewmaster Matt Cole. With the explosion in popularity came the necessity to open a full-scale production brewery in 2012. Fat Head's Brewery produces original ales and lagers for distribution throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Our Tap House offers Samples, Flights, and Fresh-brewed Pints! Sit right in the heart of our facility and enjoy the freshest beer from our tanks to your pint glass. We have a 16 tap draft system, bar seating, picnic tables, and some seriously tasty grub to go with it.

On tap at the bocktown. Usually I have a feel for saison but this stuff is more like an IPA er sumthin. Smell is sweet perfume and that turns out to be the best thing about this brew. Strong and bitter, right from the start. There is a tad of ruitiness inthere. Look is a darker brew. with it mostly being yellow with a tad of orange. Pretty much a flat brew. Has a warming effect going down the gullet. Finish is medium bitter linger, yes, more like those rye brews that come across like an IPA. Not much detectable saison here, IMHO.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet molasses, cherry and raisin. The flavor was sweet and tangy with a strong raisin presence, molasses, cherry, a yeasty undertone and a boozy element that complimented rather than detracted. Long finish of raisin, booze, cherry and yest. Full bodied. Tasty.

Pour is somewhat dark from a bottle. Smell is sweet. Taste is better than expected but still carries that spiced thing. Does have some co2, not much. Bitter herbs start to stick their little heads up. Getting worse as the session continues. Typical lighter xmas beer but it must hide its alky fairly well at 7%.

On draught at Vintage Estate. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium fizzy white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal hops and malt. Light-bodied and crisp with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and bready malt. A bit of spice throughout. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering herbal hops aftertaste. Good hoppy Pils all around.

The flavor was very sweet sugar, honey, tangy candied golden fruits, strong bread and hints of pepper and rye. Long tangy sugar and bread finish. Full bodied and smooth. Well done.
