Description
Fat Head's was founded in 1992 as a premiere craft beer tap house and restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2009 we expanded to Ohio and teamed up with our award-winning Head Brewmaster Matt Cole. With the explosion in popularity came the necessity to open a full-scale production brewery in 2012. Fat Head's Brewery produces original ales and lagers for distribution throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Our Tap House offers Samples, Flights, and Fresh-brewed Pints! Sit right in the heart of our facility and enjoy the freshest beer from our tanks to your pint glass. We have a 16 tap draft system, bar seating, picnic tables, and some seriously tasty grub to go with it.

Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is mostly roast malt and chocolate with a little coffee. The flavor is fairly well balanced, leaning more toward the sweet side. It's full bodied and quite good though for me doesn't rise to the level of many other imperial stouts (my favorite style).

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear darker copper color with a finger of beige head that lingers. Aromas of clove, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon dominate the nose. Palate shows more of the same spice flavors with toasted caramel, bready malt and light peppery notes. Balanced finish but leans dry with all the spice. Enjoyable spiced winter warmer.

Can from Total Wine. Pours a mostly clear deep gold with a finger of off-white head that lingers. Big aromas of dank pineapple, grapefruit and pine on the nose. Palate is similar with a nice mix of tropical fruit bouquet, fresh squeezed citrus, pith and pine. Lingering pine on the finish. Great stuff!

Can, pours an orange brown color. Nose is sweet artificial candy. Initial wheat ale uptake; bitterness like a medium wheat ale. Yes, some fruit and spices in there, makes me think this is a holiday ale but it ain't. Slight rudeness in the middle. Decent co2 level. Probably not really a fruit beer per se. Something more like a lighter pastry beer taste, just not as cloying. Seems like a simple mash up of spices and possibly, just possibly, some fruit. Weird finish. Cannot appreciate. Wish it had more booze content to make it worthwhile. Typical fat head attempt.
