Description
Many moons ago, in the black of the night, Viking invaders were about to attack our hometown of Stirling, when a howling wolf alerted the defenders, who saved the town. We raise a glass to that wolf. The Black Wolf.
Started brewing in January 2004 using the name City of Stirling Brewery. It was initially a sister brewery to Bridge of Allen and Trossachs Craft Brewery. During late 2005 a new company was formed to allow further investment and the brewery name was changed to just Stirling Brewery at the same time. The name then changed to Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd in 2006. The name changed once more in 2014 to its current version.

Bottle shared at Beer Market Jaffa. Clear golden with almost no head. Sweet malt and honey aroma with an artifical flavoring feel. Cloying sweet flavor with honey, a bit candy-ish, with some mildly smoky whiskey finish. Medium-bodied, a bit sticky. Sickly sweet and rather undrinkable.

Bottle at the train station on the way to BG airport. Black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, mocha, some chocolate and some liqueur-like booziness. Sweet flavor, coffee-ish, alcoholic, with some caramel and a hot boozy finish, a bit spicy and bitter. Medium-bodied. Interesting, but too sweet and boozy, especially for just 6%.
