Description

I drank this beer in Liverpool in 2014 or 2015, fortunately that the Indian food was delicious, because this beer is just water with corn and malt, papery, a lot of marketing for something with no interest, in my point of view only.

⁰.33 l can from K Ivi restaurant, Zagreb. Shared with Marko. Clear golden, small off-white head. Aroma is estery, fruity, banana at first, perfume notes of apple and cloves. Flavour is sweet banana and black pepper. Alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation, some apple sweetness. Some candy too. Finishes sweet.

0.33l can, courtesy of Hrabren, who shared it with me. Thanks I guess. Okay as long as I'm not paying for their beer. Pretty clear golden body, off-white thick head, not that much retention. Bubblegum, peach ester, caramelly notes, some glue. Fusels galore. Lean taste, almost but not quite dry, caramel drops, pear esters, glue, prickly carbonization. I guess it might be a cheap Duvel alternative, actually got decent as it warms. Its producer, however, remains a heap of manure.

On tap at Brasseries de Liege. Darker amber coloured, small off-white head, malty caramel nose. Sweet malty, caramel, notes of dried fruits and touch of honey with some alcohol in the finish. One-dimensional.

Best by 1990. Like many very old beers, this has a noticable imbalance of sweet and bitter; all the hops are gone, leaving a fairly thin malty sweetness. Not bad though!

330ml bottle @ De Gilde, Roeselare. Pours a pale gold, white head. Light lager malt nose. Quite a thin-bodied, simplistic pils, almost coming across non-alcoholic. Comes and goes without leaving much of a mark.

330ml bottle from Noz. Misty golden pour with a large white head. Didn't realise this was ABinbev when I bought it. Oh well. Still, doesn't change my view of it. Way over-sweet, metallic off-notes.. harsh.. nope
