Bottle: Poured a deep black with little to no head, some surface brown bubbles. Aroma is rich dark chocolate. Taste is rich dark bakers chocolate and mouth feels warm.

Bottle from craftbeerdesign. Thanks a bunch guy. Pours black with a three finger medium tan head. Chocolate and burnt malt aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is definitely chocolate, a bit chalky, ashey. Smooth. Unusually mouthsmacking. Really like this.

Bottle thanks to craftbeerdesign. Pours black with a decent foamy dark tan head. Aroma is dark and suggestive of cola or, perhaps, Dr. P. Medium plus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is very dark roasted malt with very dark fruit. Sweetish it is. Subtle dark and complex aspects. Finishes towards concentrated dried plum.Very clean and extremely sippable.

Handbottled. Pours hazy brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty, light acidic. Sweet fruity and nice caramelish lingering base flavour. Smooth fruity and caramelish roasted into the finish.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 01/19/2010. Clear dark copper body with a medium frothy off-white head. Very sweet caramel, toffee and light toasty aroma. Sweet toasty malt flavor, some caramel and a bit of toffee. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation.

Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso. Dark brown with an edge head. Aroma of anise and milk chocolate. Great body. Flavor also has milk chocolate, and roasted coffee. Interesting.

Sampled on draft at Bocktown in Robinson Twp PA this beer poured a dark red-amber color with a medium sized khaki head. The aroma was sweet, fruit and malty - quite pleasant if a bit vague. The flavor was malty and sweet with caramel and fruity hops prominent and a faint nutty and yeasty undertone. The finish was medium length with caramel really lingering. Medium body. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to suzygreenberg, an amazing extra to get! Pours black as black can be with a nice dark brown head that dissipated quite quickly. Aroma is amazingly full with notes of roasted malt, acidic coffee and chocolate. There is a slight undertone of alcohol on the nose. The alcohol is much more present in the flavor. It begins with roasted malts and coffee and the alcohol grows throughout. Beer is amazingly smooth and a bit thick.

Aroma: It has some bready malts, quite a bit of caramel, fresh cut grass, and honey.
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear caramel-brown color with a bubbly beige head, and it leaves a good amount of spotty lace on the glass.
Flavor: The taste has a lot of caramel malty sweetness, a good amount of bread, some honey, a drop of spice, and a bit of grassy hops.
Palate: This beer is fairly light, but certainly not watery at all. It is really crisp and fresh, with an average amount of carbonation and a really nice mouthfeel. A very refreshing beer.
Overall Impression: This beer has a lot going for it. What a nice refreshing lager. This one just really drinks nicely, and I could see it making for an excellent session lager, but since I don’t know the ABV, I can’t confirm it that is true. Anyway, I liked it a lot. Very flavorful for the style, one of the better Marzens I can recall drinking.

Bottle via a trade with beerbill. Pours with a creamy, rocky tan head and a hazy brown body. Good lace. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, some figs, and coffee. Light hops. Taste is caramel, brown sugar, light hops. Fizzy mouthfeel, dry finish.
