Bottle thanks to beerbill. Pours with a deep brown body and a nice tan head. Aroma of coffee, leather, earthy chocolate, espresso and a bit of fruit. Taste is great! Caramel, chocolate, brown sugar, even a bit of a barbecue note. awesome little stout; great for the style. Lots of bubbles, a bit of alcohol. This is truly an incredibly good milk stout!

Location: 12 oz bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark, 1/21/10
Aroma: Sweet caramel malts, earthy roast, some fruity character, smoke
Appearance: Pours a hazy dark amber color with a bubbly beige head
Flavor: Flavor is moderate-high sweetness, fruity, with a tart and sweet finish
Palate: Mouthfeel is chewy, alcohol is well hidden, medium (plus) bodied, carbonation is soft
Overall Impression: This is an interesting Scotch Ale, certainly not a exactly how you might describe the style, but an interesting interpretation. A little too sweet, though the tartness does provide just a drop of balance. Solid beer. I didn't love it, but I liked it enough.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt is dominating. Taste is also dominated by a dry caramel malt base with light lingering sweetness. Subtle toffee notes are also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. An average session ale at best.

Bottle from Secret Santa ’09: Pours a dark honey color with a thin beige head. Malty aroma is sweet and lightly floral. More florals come through in the taste and mix with the lager malty sweetness. A little sweet and cloying. Finished crisp enough with lingering florals.
