Pure white creamy head stayed well on a very active golden golden body. Yeast & lightly malted aroma. Medium to thin bodied. Sharp & clean. Not much to this. Yeast, floral & quite spicy with a long bitter finish.

Das nordisch-herbe versucht man hier mit einem einfachen Industriebier-Geschmack zu verknüpfen, was auch gut gelingt. Ein recht einfaches Bier, das aber durch seine herbe Hopfung doch zu erfreuen vermag.

500ml can. pours a clear pale yellow with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Aroma of bready malt, grain and grass. Sweet flavour of bready malt and lemon with a crisp, bitter, grassy hop finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not normally a fan of pilseners but this was ok.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - pale malt and light hop spice. Taste - as with the nose though a lot thinner. Palate - thin bodied but at least there’s a clean finish. Overall - I guess it does what a no alcohol lager is supposed to do.

500 ml bottle in flute. Pours bright golden with medium white head. Floral and hay smell. Hoppy aroma, but a bit boring. Quite bitter taste, also slightly metallic. Aftertaste is also quite bitter and intense. Carbonation soft, light body. Bitter finish. Jever is definitely different from the mainstream Pilseners. Not bad!

Bottle from Wine Rack, Burpham. Sweet and sour lager aroma, but not t to much so. Pale gold. Small bubbles. Fluffy white head. There’s some sweetness to begin with before a high bitterness rears its head in to the finish. Light bodied. Soft if oily mouthfeel. After the bitterness the finish is surprisingly abrupt. Certainly an original pilsner but I can’t wok out if like it. Wasn’t impressed on a previous occasion but more pleasant alongside carbonara.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 5D). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L0811F 21416 (BBF 08.17). AROMA: low hop aroma with a initial grassy note that vanishes. medium-low grainy malt aroma with a slight honey-like quality. faint oxidation. APPEARANCE: light gold color and clear. medium-low white head with medium retention. TASTE: medium-low malty flavor with a slight crackery honey-like note. low hop note with a grassy note. medium-high hop bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a regular german pils a bit on the bitter (and dry side).

0.33 l bottle at ’Wirtshaus Spinne’, best before August 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, a bit grainy, slightly grassy aroma of grains, straw, some green apples and hints of citrus. Slightly bitter, grainy and slightly grassy taste of grains, straw, cardboard and some slight hints of citrus, followed by a short, rather dry-bitter, grainy-papery, minimally grassy finish. Thin body, quite watery, a bit effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Hardly drinkable, no pleasure at all.

Pale yellow. Nice head. Aroma is grassy, earthy, floral and features a tiny hint of lemons and an even tinier hint of urine...Taste is bitter, bready, earthy, grassy, skunky and spicy. Medium carbonation. Long lasting hoppy aftertaste. Refreshing. The best low alcohol beer I know.

Bottle. Dark gold. Nice head. Aroma is very hoppy, earthy, skunky and grassy. Taste is hoppy, earthy, grassy and bready with a hint of lemons and spicyness. Long lasting dry and bitter finish. Good carbonation. Crisp, clean and refreshing. This is indeed an unique German Pils and I’m always happy to have one.
