Im Jahre 1788 wurde in Roth bei der alten Mühle am Stettbach eine Brauerei mit Gasthaus gegründet. Am 8. August 1872 kaufte Gottfried Schneider, der Urgroßvater der heutigen Besitzer, die Brauerei mit allen dazugehörenden landwirtschaftlichen Gebäuden und übergab diese 1904 an seinen Sohn Georg Schneider. Heute führt Xaver Weydringer die Rother Bräu bereits in der fünften Generation weiter.
Als eine der ersten Brauereien überhaupt werden in der Rother Bräu seit 1989 Öko-Biere hergestellt, die bundesweit vertrieben werden.

0,5 l bottle from Alex & Thorsten. Thanks a lot! BB 26.09.26. Clear golden in the glass, huge white head. Caramel on the nose, malt in the second row. Taste starts grainy, increasing malt and dry bitterness. Caramel in the background. Long lasting aftertaste. Mid carbonation. Not bad.

0,33 l swing top bottle. Big thank you to Alex & Thorsten. BB 18.08.26. Clear pale golden in the glass, one finger white foamy head. Caramel and grainy elements on the nose. Taste starts with caramel, increasing malt, soft but present bitterness. Below average carbonated. Pleasant easy drinker.

Rother Bräu Festbier, Flasche von Edeka, Mellrichstadt. - Helles Kupfergold, blank. - In der Nase etwas angestrengt karamelsüßes Malz, Anklänge an Honig und milde, leicht billig wirkende orangenfruchtig-krautige Hopfung. - Antrunk gerstig-karamelmalzig mit deutlicher aber noch nicht zu kräftiger Bonbonsüße. Etwas vage ausfallende hopfenwürzige und blaß orangenbittere Herbe. Milder rezent, kaum vollmundig. Im Abgang dominieren Malzsüße und Orange, dazu nur milde Herbe und zarte ranzige Noten. - Recht simpel gestricktes, gerade noch brauchbares Festbier. (24.10.2024.)

Bottle, 5.1%. Faint floral hop aroma. Almost clear shiny golden colour. Ok white head. The flavour has a bit of paper and low bitterness, but more acid than most other Helles. Goes down well enough, but less subtle and mild than expected.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear yellow with a solid, white head. Clean, malty nose. Body is a little to the watery side and hops are almost absent. Very run-of-the-mill for the style. 130723
