Description
Metalman Brewing was born in 2011 when two beer enthusiasts decided they’d had enough of the outlandishly limited selection of beer available in Ireland, and decided to do something about it.
They started by contract brewing at a small brewery in Tipperary while building a brewery in Waterford city with a 6.5HL brewhouse. Draught Metalman started popping up in all sorts of places, and various brewery upgrades followed. At the end of 2014, they installed the first canning line at an Irish microbrewery, and cans of Metalman Pale Ale hit the shelves in January 2015. A brewhouse upgrade to 24HL followed later that year, as did various seasonal and limited edition releases.
Making beer is bloody hard work, but dammit it’s a lot of fun!

Keg at the London Brewers market. A light hazed bright golden yellow coloured pour with a a light white frothy head. Aroma is apple, soft fruit, apple cobbler, low Belgian yeast. Palate is low tangy, frothy carbonation, crisp finish. Flavour is composed of Belgian yeast, apple, spicy Belgian yeast. Not bad. Light lingering hay.

Keg at London brewers Market. It pours clear hazy yellow - gold with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, apple, pear, melon, white bread, straw and grass. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, straw, grass, soft fruit, pear, apple, bit of spice, cracker and white bread. Finish is dry. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent stuff.

Decent. Nice Saison flavours, with a crisp, dry finish like a lager.

330ml can. Pours a misty yellow, medium white head. Aroma is a bit doughy sweet, floral. Taste certainly places it within saison territory, with a soft saison yeast sweetness though there is a faint herbal malt quality that suggests other elements at play. Quite refreshing, soft floral notes. Decent, enjoyable.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Colin for the can. Very hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light and sweetish wheaty malts. Smooth floral mid. Modest orange and tangerine. Light finish brings mild floral bitterness. It's okay.
