Bottled picked up in Pitlochry. It pours darkest brown with small beige to tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, rocky road, chocolate cake, roasted malt, coffee cake and vanilla cake frosting. The taste is dry, bitter, tannin, charred wood, rich roasted malt, cane frosting nougat, punchy vanilla, oak, tannin, chewy, toothy, bit of smoke, tar and whisky with a drying and boozy warmth. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Plenty of flavour going on.

Bottle picked up in Pitlochry. Hopped with Columbus and Ahtanum, clicking in at 5.9% it pours slightly hazy red - amber with a medium, foamy yellow - white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, oily, sticky, resinous, brown bread, spicy rye, dried fruits, caramel, strawberry jam and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter, resinous, piney, warming spice, toasted rye bread, cakey, dried fruits and caramel with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty pleasant stuff. Maybe could be a touch more butter to balance out the malt? Decent anyhow.

Bottle shared in BOD. It pours dark brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is tangy raspberry upfront, jammy, chocolate cake, black forest gateaux and fruit jellies. The taste is dry, tart juicy raspberry upfront, roasted malt, toasty, bit of coffee grounds, jammy, fruit jelly with a dry, toasty finish. Lighter end of medium body and fine carbonation. Soft, fruity and easy drinking. Nice one.

Bottle picked up in Pitlochry. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The aroma is fresh, quite bright, grapefruit peel, perfumed, bit of clementine, oily, sandalwood and resinous vibes. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, oily, resinous, piney, sappy, pithy, zesty, solid hit of grapefruit and some alcohol kicking about with a firmly dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Rather well done. Pretty flavourful.

Bottle, gift from my brother. Hazy amber body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of earth, wood and dried orange peel. Flavour of toffee, tea and carrot. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. This is an interesting IPA but I think Goldings are better suited to other beer styles and/or in combination with other hops.
