Keg at Dogtap. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is earthy, roasty, sweet ripe raspberry, jammy, coffee, burnt toast, ash and cacao. The taste is dry, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, sweet jammy raspberry, candy, jelly, burnt toast, charred wood, burnt and ashy, earth and peppery spice with a drying, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Fair, but a bit ashy.

Keg at BD Union Square. It pours near black with minimal head. The aroma is rich and unctuous, oily, umami, fruit cake, eccles cake, liquorice, puff of smoke, whisky, oak, leather, cacao, plum, date, figgy pudding, light spice, cake frosting and oil. The taste is dry, rich and oily, unctuous, sticky, rich whisky, motor, toothy, chocolate cake, gateaux, toothy malts, warming booze, oak, tannin, spice, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, leather, charred wood, liquorice and earth with a drying finish. Fulsome body and limited carbonation. A rich a toothy number. Oldskool, but enjoyable.

Keg at BD Union Square. It pours cloudy golden/orange with a thick, frothy white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, hay, green, weedy, rope, floury, ripe stone fruit, apricot, nectarine, peach, guava and watermelon. The taste is firmly dry, some bitterness upfront, spicy, hay, herbal almost, floury bread, citrus peel, florals, wood, guava, papaya, weedy, citrus peel, pithy hint of bubbelgum and just a touch of alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Interesting stuff. Good depth.
