Description
Welsh Craft Beer brewed on Anglesey.
Mona n. (Latin) means Ynys Môn (Welsh) or Anglesey (English) – and this is where we are….. The island is known as Môn, Mam Cymru (Môn, the Mother of Wales) the breadbasket of Wales, so we thought….. why not add some great beers to the mix?
Whilst the island’s first recorded name shapes our identity and our Welsh heritage influences us, we take our inspiration from across the globe, and we want to share a piece of Anglesey with the world.
Our craft brewery was established in 2018 by seven likeminded friends with a common interest in, amongst other things, good beer…. All our beer is hand-made in small batches, to ensure quality and consistency and we like to behave in a sustainable way.

Can from Vinomondo, Conwy. An opaque hint to the gold body. Foamy translucent white head. The aroma.has sweet honey with a spir citrus edge and underlying malta. Flavourwise it starts off with a sour citrus streak. Polite, not overly sweet, honey then appears. They meld. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Nice. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Can online from Stori, Bala. Pours mildly hazed gold with a huge white head. Massively overcarbed. Aroma: sweet malt, bread, cereal, mild lemon. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter. Towards medium body with that six inches of foam. Tidy flavours overall.

Can from Vinomondo, Conwy. Aroma combines sweet porridge with floral, herbal and vinous notes. Hazy neon orange. Thick fluffy foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Tart vinous and herbal edge. Underlying fruity light sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Slick verging on creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable stuff. The NZ hops work well with the NE style of the beer.

Can from Craft Beer Cave. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Hoppy, mango, lime notes. Taste: Hoppy, mango, sweetish, hints of lime and white grape compensating some of the sweetness. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Interesting combination of hops (Motueka and Nelson Sauvin). A little on the sweet side for me personally. Ok overall.
