Unit 2 St Edmunds Garages, Broad Road, Bacton, IP14 4HP, England
Description
Humber Doucy Brewing Co. is a family-run brewery based in Bacton in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. Surrounded by the fields that provide the barley used for brewing, the location captures John and Alan’s love of Suffolk perfectly.
John and Alan, a father and son team, believe there is nothing better than the combination of Suffolk and beer. Humber Doucy Brewing Company combines the two beautifully.
Humber Doucy is all about Suffolk. John and Alan’s love of Suffolk is reflected in the inspiration for the beer’s names and the name of the brewery itself. Taken from a street in Ipswich, and reflecting the nature of Humber Doucy beers – meandering, relaxing and just a little bit shady.
Humber Doucy is all about beer. We are committed to using locally malted barley. Being located in one of the best barley-growing regions in the world, and surrounded by fields of the good stuff, why wouldn’t we?

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Barely clear, pale amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Floral, leafy, fruity, hoppy aroma with biscuity and caramel malty background, notes of apricot, mirabelle, a touch of nectarine, orange, an earthy touch of blackcurrant. Taste is dry, fruity, leafy, minimally zesty and waxy hoppy, light, biscuity and caramel malty basis with little residual sweetness, minimally diluted notes of mirabelle, apricot, some nectarine, quince, an earthy and minimally tart-ish touch of blackcurrant, minimally doughy, yeasty overtones; lingering, tart-ish and minimally mineral finish. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, soft carbonation. Well balanced, not overly intense but extraordinarily manifold for its low abv - very nice.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers!]. Hazy, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Bready malty and more yeasty than hoppy, fruity aroma, hints of grey bread, crisp bread, cereals, some apricot, peach, nectarine, minimally waxy overtones. Taste is slightly bitter, fruity hoppy, diluted hints of apricot, peach, nectarine, a minimally mineral, chalky touch, minimally bready, pale malty basis. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, rather coarse, prickly carbonation. Nice, almost Zwickel-like character due to the omission of filtration and yellow stone fruit flavours, balanced, refreshing, sadly quite overcarbonated - pretty decent.
