Maltco Zest’ive Mexican Lager 4.5% I got this in honor of the Day of the Dead but then fell asleep before getting to it! Sweet corn lager aroma with lime zest, very evocative of a Corona. Light bodied and super dry with an effervescent prickly carbonation. A touch too gassy but this is a nice example of this style.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a medium white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops notes with some floral hops notes and noticeable bitterness. Taste is also a mix of citrusy hops notes with some floral undertones and bitterness. Body is about average with medium carbonation. Enjoyable ISA with a good amount of bitterness.

Can: Poured a clear dark golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of peppery rye malt notes with some vinous notes. Taste is a mix of peppery rye malt, some vinosu notes with some unrefined malt notes also perceptible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Missing some balance in managing the flavors.
