Draught Porterhourse, Covent Garden. Pale gold, good hop nose, bit thin in mouth with carbonation, nice tang of the hops on the finish though. 2.7 I had this on 12/8/06 and thought that it was extremely well hopped. Woody intense bitterness. I know that they were changing barrels so not sure if it was bottom of one or top of the other, but certainly excellent

Draught at Porterhouse Covent Garden. I am really interested by the division that these beers seem to generate. Some think they are too affected by the nitro keg and taste artificial, some absolutely adore these stouts. I err on the side of the adoration. Sometimes I can have a pint that is a bit listless, but normally I really enjoy the malts, caramels, chocolate and coffees that dominate these beers.

Porterhouse in Maiden Lane. I really like this stout. It starts off with all the usual malty notes on the nose, but the body and palate are terrific. I don’t know if it is a psychological thing, but this stout seems stiffer in the body due to the additon of the oysters. Very unusual, but completely wonderful beer

Keg @ Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Refreshing lager. Doesn’t do anything brilliant, doesn’t do anything wrong. It’s ok.

Cask @ Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Reddish brown in hue. Some hops and a some fruity malt on the nose. Fullish in mouth with hops dominating on finish. Passable without being wonderful

Nitro @ Porterhouse, Covent Garden. I really like this. Black , velvety porter with chocolate and coffee malts on the nose, creamy/velvet in mouth and more chocolate/coffee on the finish. Very satisfying

[Draft at Porterhouse, London] A nutbrown beer with a fine creamy beige head. It almost has no aroma - what is there is sweet nutty. The flavor is nutty as well combined with notes of roasted bread and alcohol.

[Draft at Porterhouse, London] A pitch black beer with a firm creamy lasting chocolate brown head. The aroma is very lightly malty. The flavor starts of roasted, but thin for a stout, then comes flavors of caramel, before a slight salty (yes, salty - a first for me) end sets in.

[Draft at Porterhouse, London] A yellow beer with a small white head. The aroma is quite hoppy and somewhat hoppy. The flavor is sweet with some stinges of sourness, before a bitter hoppy end sets in.
