Bottle thanks to Kyle! Pours a murky yellowish brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of caramel, maple syrup and sweet dark grains with underlying spice and a bit of apple. Flavor starts with sweet grains, maple and toffee and has some apple, spice and gingerbread in the finish. A bit muddled.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates immediately and completely. Aroma has a good amount of citrus with light fruits and a very light grains backing. Flavor has earthy citrus with a grain backing and is a touch thin.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear dark brown with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has strong spice notes with a good amount of ginger and dark grains. Flavor has more dark grains up front with roasted malts and more balanced spice notes in the finish.

Aroma has strong roasted malts and a good amount of booze with underlying licorice and dark chocolate. Flavor has bitter chocolate and strong roasted malts with booze and molasses coming out in the finish.

Aroma has strong booze/whiskey note with molasses, dark grains and a bit of roast as well as an odd apple note. Flavor has even more of the apple note coming through that clashes with molasses, dark grains and roasted malts.

Draft at Smokehouse 52, Chelsea. Murky medium-dark orange-brown body, thin cream head. Light toasty nose. Sweet body, with brown sugar and berries and a bitter, grassy finish. Modest smoke, mostly like sweetened, lightly tannic tea. Not bad.
