Bottle. Pitch black body with a brown head. Aroma has dark malt, chocolate and Bourbon. Taste is more than less the same, dark, moderate roasted malt, dark chocolate, balanced bitterness and Bourbon. Fine body and long-lasting aftertaste. I don’t get the Smash (salty chocolate) thing, but otherwise it’s a fine imperial stout with Bourbon. Not very complex really, but smooth dark malt, chocolate and Bourbon is a killer combination as it is and who needs a pastry stout when you got this.

Så vidt gjennomskinnelig: Ultramørk dyprød. Mokkafarget filmskum. Tynn teppelacing. Aroma av lær & kakao. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken kokos & lakris. En anelse bourbon i avslutninga. Alkoholen aldeles bortkamuflert.

330ml bottle, batch 87, picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Pours a bubbly, fawn-coloured head. Deep dark brown body with a ruby shade. Promising smell of earthy malts, hints of prunes and grain. Grainy chocolate flavours together with liquorice and ash. A bourbon bite towards a dry and dark malty-driven finish. Pretty good. (Tromsø 17.04.2020).

Can. A hazy yellow beer with a decent white head. Hop driven aroma with just a touch of bready pale malts in the back. Grapefruit, pineapple hints, generic tropical fruit notes and a wee grassy hint. It's medium bodied, soft and smooth, semi-dry and decently bitter, at least for the style. Personally I'd prefer more carbonation too. There's some malty sweetness going on in the mouth, but as expected it's citrus, tropical fruits and some pine cones that runs the show. Medium length hoppy finish.
