Description

Bottle at the "couldn’t be arsed to do anything else on a Wednesday tasting @ ABC Beers". Poured a clear dark brown with a thin light tn head. The aroma is liqourice, alcohol, floral, dry aniseed. The flavour is strong bitter with a big alcoholic light oak palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The alcohol dominates.

Bottle from the Bier Koning, Amsterdam. Gushed a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big yeast, citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a big yeast, malt, dry mineral citrus palate and a bubbly mouthfeel. Medium bodied with very lively carbonation. A rather unusual beer and almost chewy. Shame about the carbonation as I lost 1/3 of the bottle :-(

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle tasting. Thanks to CDA hound Colin. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Airy and mild dark malts. Little dry cream. Mild alcohol spice. Little tangy whisky. Semi dry finish with a warming afterglow. Decent but the barreling has overwhelmed the CDA character.

Hazy dark brown beer, decent pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, whisper of dry caramel. Light dry cream and traces of tangy fruits and marmite. Finishes dry. Inoffensive but I would expect a Dubbel to have a bit more punch than this.
